Jenny Slate and Jon Hamm were photographed leaving the movies last week. This might mean nothing. Then again, it might mean everything. So, whatever you’re doing, please stop and process this.
A little about these two: Hamm, of course, starred in Mad Men on AMC as Don Draper, which ended in 2015, and appeared in a handful of 30 Rock episodes as Liz’s stupid but beautiful boyfriend Dr. Drew Baird. He recently split from his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt, a writer and actress who co-starred with Hamm in 2012’s Friends With Kids and 2002’s Kissing Jessica Stein (Hamm’s role is brief in Kissing Jessica Stein, but it’s an absolutely delightful movie and you should rent it immediately). This month, Hamm opened up to InStyle about the split, saying it was “really hard” to be single again after so long.
Meanwhile, Slate, from Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation, Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, Three, and Obvious Child, was previously married to Dean Fleischer-Camp, with whom she co-created Marcel the Shell. After her divorce, she dated her Gifted co-star Chris Evans.
More important, Hamm and Slate recently appeared alongside Zachary Quinto in comedy-drama Aardvark, which premiered this year at the Tribeca Film Festival, where they assumedly bonded enough to make plans to go out to the movies. Perhaps they went as friends. Perhaps they went as more. Regardless of the motive behind their movie outing, we can all revel in knowing that two cool humans have struck up cool friendship goals. But when we find out, rest assured, we will tell you. In the meantime, you may return to your regularly scheduled activities — and stay suspicious.
LMAO. A little gossip here and there is good for the soul. Stay tuned.
